Massachusetts Shingle Style

Massachusetts Shingle Style

After several adventure-filled years in a Beacon Hill townhouse, a family of six decided it was time to gain some breathing room and get a little closer to nature. Their search took them to the leafy suburb of Weston, MA where they found a beautiful home, originally designed by LDA Architects, which offered an enticing marriage of classic, shingle style exteriors and contemporary, clean-lined interiors. Within this special envelope, we set about tailoring the interior architecture to suit the clients’ functional needs and creating a bright and airy atmosphere awash with bold punches of color. With comfort and serenity being mission number one, we designed plush upholstery with sensuous curves and soft rugs in subtle hues, which make the rooms feel as if they are floating on clouds. To spice things up and provide necessary depth, we peppered the spaces with rich accent colors, “touch me” textures, and some truly spectacular wallpaper patterns. Anything but cookie cutter, the final result is equal parts fun and soothing and is a true expression of the happy souls who call it home.
