For the 79th Annual Academy Awards, we were honored to be chosen by Architectural Digest to design the exclusive backstage lounge for Oscar® presenters and honorees. For the very first time, we actually turned the Greenroom “green” by using eco-friendly elements, which demonstrated that eco-consciousness doesn’t have to sacrifice glamour and beauty. Taking our design cues from the look of “Classic Hollywood” films, we created a room that was a study in layers and contrasts, all of which we achieved via natural materials, sustainably harvested woods, non-toxic adhesives and some remarkable recyclables (e.g., a carpet made from recycled plastic bottles).
