The process of creating Eminent Domain was a long one. After a site visit, the designers created a model, which they presented for review and approval by Kim Davenport, the gallery director, and her staff. Once the project was green-lighted, the long process of enlarging and scaling the engravings began. After achieving the proper sizing, the images were printed, mounted and cut, at which point the designers began hand-coloring the botanicals and insects. When all the elements were completed and catalogued, they were crated and shipped to Houston. The photographs here show the process of assembling and installing the artwork, like an enormous puzzle.
