showtime original series

Great interiors are often inspired by art, antiques or architecture, but a TV series? When Metropolitan Home, the top authority on modern design, and Showtime, the cutting-edge cable television network, join forces, that’s exactly what will happen. Bring in six of the country’s top interior designers and you have a show house like no other.

Among the fortunate few selected to transform the house are Matthew White and Frank Webb of White Webb. Rounding out the exclusive cast of designers are Jamie Drake, Tori Golub, Laura Kirar, Amy Lau and Vicente Wolf. To make their design challenge all the more interesting, the designers have been asked to seek their inspiration from one of Showtime’s original series: Californication, Dexter, The L Word, The Tudors, The United States of Tara and Weeds.

Debuting in early September, Metropolian Home’s Showtime House will occupy a grand, 1847 Greek Revival townhouse on New York City’s storied Gramercy Park. Each of the designers will use their signature styles to marry the graceful elegance of the home’s traditional architecture with the best in modern design.

While the rooms’ design will be inspired by television’s hottest dramas, the rooms’ designers will be creating some drama of their own. In an unusual first, Showtime will film and air the making of the Metropolitan Home Showtime House. If you think The Tudors is chock full of intrigue, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Stay tuned for what will surely be entertaining design.

For the esteemed @pasadenashowcasehouse, we designed this room over 20 years ago, and it still looks fresh and inviting. While decidely traditional, its clean lines, restrained palette and blending of old and new make it equally suited for today. #whitewebbinteriors #interiordesign #showhousedesign #pasadenadesign

The unexpected can often make for great design. I The unexpected can often make for great design. In a room we designed for @kbshowhouse many years ago, we designed an India-inspired studio with a bed niche clad in a shimmering material. Would you have guessed that it’s a collection of tin can lids? The artwork of artist Clare Graham, they certainly introduced something unexpected and wonderfully so. 📸 by @bjornwallander #whitewebbinteriors #interiordesign #kipsbayshowhouse #showhousedesign #nycinteriordesign
