Alfresco Living, Elevated: Curated Outdoor Spaces for Summer

Outdoor

17 Jul

While our greatest love is curating interiors, we’re thrilled when we’re able to think outside the walls and step into the great outdoors. We believe in a seamless dialogue between indoor and outdoor environments, each enhancing the other. Rather than treating the landscape as an afterthought, we approach it as an integral part of the overall design story. Whether you’re dining beneath the shade at a beautifully set table, unwinding in a luxurious lounge under the stars, or hosting lively open-air gatherings, we believe every outdoor environment should be thoughtfully curated to elevate the alfresco experience.

Play Alfresco

Why can’t it all be fun and games, after all? In a Pasadena paradise, two fires, a gas lantern, and moon lights among the trees make for a decidedly romantic setting for s’more roasting or cuddling beneath the stars. At another West Coast home, a stone fireplace anchors the end of a long pool, perfect for those looking to both warm up and cool down. From recreational backyard features to serene wellness zones, every outdoor space can become a destination for relaxation and joy.

Live Alfresco

In a setting shaped by nature, form matters. Just as trees, rocks, and shadows create natural rhythm, architectural elements and sculpture can bring deliberate structure and balance to an outdoor space. For a large rooftop terrace overlooking Pasadena, we installed a series of arched arbors that help to organize the space into different seating areas while introducing some drama and greenery.  In an outdoor shower area of a modern country home, we allowed the furniture itself to become the sculpture. Here, the fanciful, cloud-like bench from Bend Goods transforms seating into art. These curated elements show how modern outdoor furniture and landscape features can create visually dynamic and restful spaces.

Dine Alfresco

We’ve never shied away from color in our interiors, so why would we treat our exteriors any differently? Perched atop a patio in a Hudson Valley country home, sits a dazzling dining table rendered in a hue inspired by the client’s favorite flowers. A sunny yellow tray offers a fun contrast to the violet surface beneath it. Meanwhile, on a rooftop balcony overlooking the Venice Canal, we took a more timeless approach with a classic pedestal table dressed in an embroidered blue tablecloth. These spaces prove that stylish outdoor dining can be both functional and artful.

Whether you’re grabbing a bite, lounging back, or staying active this summer, there’s no reason not to do it in a beautifully curated setting. Thoughtful design doesn’t stop at the back door. At White Webb, we believe that luxury outdoor spaces should feel just as curated and intentional as the interiors they complement. Let your outdoor living areas reflect the same creativity, comfort, and elegance you bring to life indoors, and elevate every moment spent under the open sky.

Matthew recalls the memories of past lives of his beloved dogs from childhood onward, through old photos and other meaningful objects. Not that he needs reminding of their existence or their love. Three of these clocks have been in Matthew’s colle Three of these clocks have been in Matthew’s collection for more than twenty years, all have stories. The rooster clock is carved wood, possibly Italian, or perhaps Scandinavian? The most recent addition and most simple in design holds layered meaning that is deeply felt. This English clock from the 1930s gets wound every Sunday and keeps excellent time, each quarter hour heralded by resonate chimes. Matthew loves old clocks so much he wrote a book on the topic! @abbevillepress #antiqueclocks #clocks #clockchimes
