The Luxury of Choice Designing at the Plaza Hotel

Design Log

Everyone knows that Eloise, the fictional character who lives in New York City’s storied Plaza hotel, is one lucky, little girl. Should it be any wonder then that people from across the globe are now scrambling to get a peek at her newly transformed home? Thanks to a $400 million renovation by El-Ad Properties, a considerable portion of the former hotel has been reborn as one of New York City’s most exclusive condominiums, offering up a range of apartments literally fit for a king.

Case in point – unit 309. Boasting jaw-dropping views of Central Park and Fifth Avenue, 13′ ceilings, and almost 10,000 square feet of living space, it rightly deserves to be called palatial. Stribling, the property’s exclusive sales agent, understands the special finesse required to sell just such a palace and has devised a unique plan, offering the ultimate in royal treatment.

Realizing that choice is the greatest luxury, Stribling assembled a team of world-class designers to convey their visions for this extraordinary home. Whether buyers’ tastes range from Mughal maharajah to Miesian minimalist, they will be able to see a design concept that suits their preferred style. Along with other design stars, White Webb was invited to provide its distinctive take on this exceptional home. Focusing on the library, master bedroom and family room, Matthew White and Frank Webb have deployed their signature blend of classicism and modernism to create designs that are strikingly dramatic and sophisticated while, at the same time, pamperingly livable.

Click here to see a floor plan of the apartment. If it’s the home for you, pick up the phone and call the Plaza Sales Office at (212) 588-8000 … and then call White Webb!
